Q: What's a more embarrassing blot on Jean-Claude Van Damme's career than Street Fighter (1994)?

A: Jean-Claude Van Damme promoting Street Fighter (1994).

"I can be funny!"

You sure can, JC. Though not in the way you'd like.

Also there's this nonsense, from the cartoon.

You know the drill.

9 available slots, grab 'em while they're hot by commenting. First 9 to comment get 3 featured deviations here but ONLY if they propagate the chain by doing the same thing in their journals. Oh, and when you do your feature, I have to be the first one.

Blue Graffiti #10: Summer Vacation

Wed Oct 28, 2009, 6:38 PM
Here's another jam from the Power Rangers.

When you're 13, hormones raging, and finals are looming, this song resonates with your heart in a very special way. When you're an adult looking back you realize a) what a dork you were and b) how hilarious these Disney prefab pop prisses sounded when they tried to sound hard and "from the streets", cruising the halls of Whitebread High "checkin' out fly behinds" and hoping for school to be out because "summer school's not in the master plan". Even the black dude sounds like a chav.

"Yo, me and mah homies be all up in biology dissectin' mad frogs and shit! It's '91, son, represent!"

If Deedee and Tiffini were really singing those backup vocals, they're pretty good.

And yes, their name was an acronym. It stands for Positive Attitude Reflects Today's Youth. Ugh. Sounds like that assembly at school we all dreaded.

EDIT: LOOK WHAT'S IN THE RELATED VIDS! Appropriately enough, it's the Top That rap!

All ya'll with PS3s, go out and buy this game. It's hella awesome, and high sales will keep fellow Lisp nerds at Naughty Dog in business, creating great games.

(Yes, I know they're a subsidiary of SCE.)

Blue Graffiti #9: RIP MJ

I think that even more tragic than Michael Jackson's death was his life as of late. More than any other single musician, he elevated pop music to the level of performance art. And in his later years he seemed to lose touch with the inspiration that made him great and fall into a very weird place.

Black Or White was from his last smash-hit album, Dangerous in 1991. The video popularized the technique of shape interpolation, commonly called "morphing", in film and video production. Michael Jackson was always cutting edge.

Rest in peace. And keep your hands off those little angels.
